To be able to love self, we need to know ourselves. You go on dates at the very early stages of a relationship, spend time getting to know each other, think about yourself as an extended version of this with repeats!
Why? You change as you grow, so it’s worth investing in getting to know yourself regularly, as the version of yourself then is different to the version of yourself now and in the future. Put the time and energy in and your love for self pays off. Here are some tips on how to find self love?

Surprise yourself
Surprise yourself with a ‘best bits’ reel! This is part of presenting the ‘best bits’ of yourself. Take a few moments to recall and create the highlights, your ‘best bits’ reel of the last 3 years, relive them, see yourself and what you do whilst enjoying the feelings.
Essential Energy
What powers you up? This is something to know and use as a resource. When you are feeling on top of the world what had to happen that made you choose to feel this way? Perhaps a challenge that you faced and overcame against all odds or surprised yourself. Recognising and understanding your energy levels and how you energise yourself is essential in the relationship with you. Whatever it is, how you can you have more of this?
Love you!
Love and appreciate you for who you are. Take a look at your self image, the version of you that (only) you see in the mirror. Recognise the specific parts of your image that you really like. Now, go more inside, what do you appreciate about yourself, your qualities and resources? What makes you, you?
Focus on what you want
We can find ourselves focusing more on times when things did not work out as expected, this is because our mind wants to serve and listens very literally to our inner thinking. So if we focus more on what we don’t want, then we will notice more of that – ever experience this? So lets do the opposite and change that perspective by focusing on what we do want.

Law of requisite variety
Here we focus on the value of using a flexible mindset in situations rather than a rigid one which can hold us back. How flexible is your thinking, can you think above, below and outside the box? Learn ways to think in all directions around a problem on our Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) courses so that when it comes to a problem, we have the skill and ability to think around it laterally to get results.
One Thing
We are not designed to do everything all at once, not even multi tasking. So what about doing just one thing, just one thing and doing it well? In this case the one thing is your relationship with you. How will you feel when you have developed it further?
Values
What are your personal values? Values are gained and learned through upbringing and many other factors such as geographical, education, career, life experience. You will certainly know some, those which come easily to you. On our Master Practitioner Training, Practitioners learn to elicit values in all contexts such as Personal growth, career, health and wellbeing. Knowing our innermost values drives our motivation, that’s why values are a key part of knowing ourselves on the inside.
Excitement
As you grow and develop your relationship with yourself, it’s getting exciting! Now as you start to trust yourself more, believe in yourself and push your capabilities further, you find you can achieve so much more in all areas of life and get even better results.
If you are curious to find out more about yourself, perhaps make some changes in your relationship with you so that you can grow to love self and step out of your comfort zone, get in touch to experience what NLP can do for you.
