Flexible in mind as well as body?

We all desire and work hard (some of us extremely hard!) to achieve flexibility in our bodies. What can we do to to be flexible with our thinking to avoid conflict? How often have you been in a situation where through an exchange of communication, you felt your response could have been better and regretted it?

Here are 3 suggestions using NLP to expand our awareness and thinking for improved communication.

1. Living in a bubble. As we have our own model of the world which we interpret and reinforce into our thinking, key is to be aware that this is individual to ourselves, we are in effect, living in a ‘bubble’ and that is to be respected.

2. It starts with you. The person with the most flexibility of behaviour will find control. Ask yourself, how flexible is my behaviour?

3. The meaning of communication is the response you get. To get a desirable response, focus on the language you use. For example moving from an immediate response to a request of “It can’t be done” to “That’s a great idea…” starts a conversation in a more productive way.

Give them a go and see where your thinking and conversations take you. If you want to learn more about mindset, language and our responses consider the NLP Practitioner training programme.
